Excelling at work is all about putting your best face forward. But, at what price? Truth is, a lot of high-priced beauty products are made with the same ingredients as ones you can find in drugstores.

“You don’t always have to spend an arm and a leg for a good beauty product,” says Jessica Lauren, one of New York’s top makeup artists. For more info, Lauren suggests you check out product reviews, ask friends and family what works for them and compare product ingredients.

Save: Eyeliner

Splurge: Foundation

A foundation that offers coverage without clogging pores is a necessity. “Try a great cream to powder foundation that doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin and offers a natural, matte look without causing dryness.” Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Radiance available at Nordstrom for $48.

Save: Lip Gloss

Professional makeup artists say every woman should have a good gloss in her makeup artillery that's long lasting, but not too thick or shiny.
