company: the start-up or emerging phase (“scrapping for survival”), the profitable and well-established
stage(“full bloom”), and the winding down, or succession phase (“harvest time.”) Appropriate strategies
at each stage buffer owners from vulnerabilities and protect the years of sacrifice, effort and cash
behind building a business from scratch, leaving employers to focus on what they do best – running the
business they love, growing it from the ground up and eventually leaving it in the hands of someone
they personally groom and select or reaping the harvest from the sale of an incredibly profitable
company. Tactical and strategic guidance to avoid pitfalls of financial overextension, a disability, change
