Summer Work Style

Miss the days when school was out for the summer, and you had three months of free time?

We’re here to cheer you up with summer’s newest fashion trends!

Pattern pairing is one of the season’s hottest looks. Stylist Jeannie Mai suggests mixing playful florals with polka dots.

To try this on a more conservative scale, “incorporate a floral blouse beneath your gray or tan suit, blazer, or pencil skirt,” Mai says.

Or, wear floral pants.

Joanna Kinsman, founder of the Miss Kinsman clothing line, recommends them in “a silk or satin wide leg for a casual summer resort look.”

Another popular pair is bold geometric or tribal prints with bright solids. “This gives you a multitude of looks between a few coordinates,” says Kinsman.

Skirts are in this summer, and they’re great office-wear.

“High waist skirts, from pencil to flowing can make any tight-fitting work top look smashing,” Kinsman says.

If you’re worried about the dress code, Kinsman suggests starting with an edgy look and layering with a cardigan.

Your feet will also be relieved to hear that kitten heels are a popular substitute for stilettos.

Mai says they are “a MUST for any busy Monday.”
